a little metallic inspiration for the week
Whether it's sequin or lamè. Add some metallic to your wardrobe this season. That touch of shimmer adds a hint of fun to any outfit. Go small with a clutch or a little shimmer on your eye makeup. Go big with a jacket or midi skirt. Enjoy! Xo, M

a little denim shirt inspiration for the week
I love a good denim shirt. They are comfortable, versatile and multi-seasonal. A true staple for any wardrobe.
So this week rock the denim shirt to work, during your day or out to play. Enjoy! xo, M A little bit of inspiration to start your week!
It's Sunday and the week ahead is filled with appointments, meetings, lunches, school drop off, soccer practice, maybe even a date night. We could all use a little wardrobe inspiration to get ready for the week ahead.
Enjoy! xo, M
These aren't your 80's sneakers. Well, some of them could be from the 80's but we aren't styling them with pencil skirts and socks anymore. And these sneakers aren't for the gym, these are the sneakers you put on after you workout. Yes, you can style them with athletic gear but you can also wear them with a midi skirt or ankle jeans. These are the options you are looking for when you don't want to wear your black leggings all day but can't figure out what to wear! Wear them dropping the kids at school, then to run errands, grab lunch or even casual day at the office.
If you are looking for more options, I can put together a lookbook for you! Send me an email with what you are looking for... stylebyrisso@gmail.com xo, M
A few more options for your Friday! xo

The culotte. Not quite a midi skirt and not quite pants. It's an indecisive girls best friend. It's also a great option for fall, when the weather is cooling but not cold enough to be bundled up.
There are several ways to style this fall staple. Flats or heels. Boots or wedges. You really have a lot of options. The key to making sure the culotte looks great is proportion. Pay for the tailoring to make sure it fall about an inch or two around midcalf. Too long and it looks dowdy, too short and it breaks up the leg disproportionately. xo, M
Many years ago I started a little blog named Frolic in Tulle and this was one of my most favorite recurring posts. It started when I found a gorgeous pair of hot pink stilettos with a price tag that wasn't for me. So, I searched and searched and found a pair that was strikingly similar with a much smaller price tag. Friday Finds was born.
Fringe is back in a big way for Fall/Winter. These fringe ankle boots are an easy way to update any wardrobe without going fringe crazy. Pair these with a sweater and ankle jeans for the day or a shift dress and tights at night. Either way, this bootie is versatile and fun. xoxo DayNIGHT
The weather is starting to change here on the east coast and before long the chilly days will take over. So what do you need to update your wardrobe this fall season? Check out our list below!
If you are looking to add a new piece or two (or let's be honest, three) to your wardrobe here are the trends we are loving because they are versatile and they will easily transition from spring to summer. Would you like more options or styling advice? Send an email to Maria at stylebyrisso@gmail.com. One Great Coat: This can be your splurge item for the season because a classic long coat will last you a very long time, if it is treated well.
Fringe: A bag, a skirt, boots. It's your choice when it comes to fringe, just make sure it's not all worn at the same time.
Sequins and Glitter: A little bit or a lot, it all depends on how you want to wear it.
Tie-Neck Blouse: Add a super feminine touch this fall with the tie-neck blouse. Layer it under a sweater or a blazer. This is a great addition to your work wardrobe when paired with a pencil skirt and heels.
Turtleneck: You probably already have one, if not two, of the very versatile turtleneck. If not, you can choose from sleeveless, cropped, chunky knit or smooth cotton. These are great layering pieces and paired with a mod mini skirt you can't go wrong.
Over the Knee Boots: We are loving over the knee boots, the suede variety in particular. These pair beautifully with a midi skirt and turtleneck, hello chic!
There has been a bit of debate over wearing white after Labor Day. If you want the history behind the "rule" click here. At Style by Risso, we believe that white after Labor Day is all a matter of fabric choices, silhouettes and styling.
So many shades of white, from blush to ecru, walked the Fall 2015 runway. Here are some highlights and a few looks from Style by Risso for inspiration. Xoxo
Loving this winter white dress with self fabric hip belt. Simple earrings, modern saddle bag and textured black and white heels complete what is bound to be a go to ensemble.
Your work wardrobe will thank you for this modern update to the white blouse. Maroon heels, geometric earrings, a structured bag and cigarette pants will keep you comfortable and chic at the same time.
For those that love their white denim jeans, don't tuck them away just yet. They pair perfectly with a chunky knit sweater, fringe bucket bag, statement earrings and booties. Time to run those errands in style.
Let's not be afraid of fall florals. They are far from their spring sister in color and mood. From retro patterns to silver embroidery, these are a great update for any wardrobe.
From the Runway
Daytime
This ensemble is an easy go to for any daytime occasion. Tuck in the shirt. When the weather gets chillier add a leather jacket or a turtleneck for extra warmth. Not into loafers? Switch them out for black suede wedges.
Work
Three pieces, earrings and your outfit is complete. There are so many wonderful colors in this dress. You can play with all of them using your accessories. Go bold with red heels or get vampy with suede knee high boots. Pull up your hair and add statement earrings to take this from the board room to the cocktail lounge.
Date Night
I am fully obsessed with this dress. 70s vibe, relaxed yet sexy off the shoulder silhouette. What a great date night piece! Blush accessories don't compete with the colorful floral. If you are feeling more daring, swap out the blush heels for camel platform sandals and afringe saddle bag. If you are short like me, hello 4'11'', don't forget to hem these midi dresses and skirts to no more than 3 inches below the knee. Any longer and the proportions get thrown off.
4th of July is around the corner and plans are in place for parades, fireworks and bbqs. So, what to wear? You don't have to don stars and stripes all over to be ready to celebrate this most special American holiday. Here at Style by Risso, we love fashion that gives back and one of our favorites is Bloom+Grace. Through their partnership with the United Nation's Shot@Life program, every purchase vaccinates children in developing countries. As of today, they have vaccinated over 30K children.
